The Perth based artist collective incorporates all styles of street art, from traditional graffiti writers and character designers to more modern stencil artists. Each with their own unique talents and credibility, the contributing artists have vast experience in producing high quality urban art murals.
As the YHA is a not-for-profit organisation and are unable to facilitate funding for the project, the development of the mural will be an artist donated initiative. The collective of 21 local street artists have offered to volunteer their time & talents, as well as contribute all necessary paint products & equipment for the completion of this project.
Christie Allison aka POISE
Ladie Poise, originally from Perth, started her artistic career as
a teenage Graffiti Writer in the eighties. Over the years her
self‐taught styles have evolved into intricate works depicting scenes of
bright cheerfulness to dark morbidity often framed with words of wisdom
from old sayings, to just good old traditional graffiti.
Moving to Melbourne in 2004 kicked Poise’s creativity into
overdrive and saw her expand her artistic vision to include almost any
surface. Driven by the evidence of a disposable society she has a
penchant for painting thrown away items, op shop finds, rusty cans,
furniture and straight up junk that you might find on a council verge side collections.
Whilst many of Poise’s recent works seem dark and miserable there
is usually a sense of humour or a positive underlying message. This
comes from her unique view of the world where most moments of joy are
hidden in dark places or the where the things that make her happiest are
also those that bring angst and uncertainty.
Not all her art is dark and foreboding. A lot of her creations are
bright, almost pop art creations with a fifties feel, modernised with a
twist of tattoo and low brow styles.

Toni Williams aka Miss Tones
With a bachelor of contemporary arts and visual art, Toni has been floating in, out and around the Perth visual art scene for several years. In between parenting and working in web development & design, Toni devoted any additional time she found into furthering her artistic studies, developing her skills, and exploring her concepts to establish her visual arts practice.
Primarily a painter and textile artist, in recent years Toni (inspired by her partner Jason) has returned to her artistic roots and has rekindled her passion with urban street art & graffiti. With murals painted across Perth & in Melbourne, Toni has now embraced street art as her primary focus and is establishing with momentum.
Her paintings often centre on feminine doll-like figures, that are aimed to soften a male dominated graffiti landscape whilst also questioning the perception of beauty from within a distorted media driven society.
Toni has exhibited around Australia in group shows.

Jason Carle aka Dibs was very much a part of the perth graffiti scene in his early years, until he developed and pursued a name for himself in the perth dance music scene. He developed his interest as a means to explore and express his creative nature, away from his very technical computer based career. Only in recent years has he rekindled his passion with street art, along side his partner Toni. Jason predominantly approaches his street art work utilizing freehand aerosol techniques incorporating lettering and a mixture of fantasy characters influenced by technology.

Scott Armstrong aka Hi8us
Stencil artist - Many years later after an inspirational time
spent in the UK and Europe Scott’s passion resurfaced. With no formal
training it began as a creative outlet and form of stress relief after a
days work. Scott’s body of work has developed over the years into a pop
art and street art stencil based style. Bold colours and mixed media
elements are introduced with his strong love of music and pop culture
also highly evident in much of his work.
Scott counts his time involved with the Condor Carpark Project
as one of the most exciting times in his short artistic life with the
chance to paint with, be inspired by and interact with some of Perth’s
most underrated and most respected artists. This also led to Scott’s
involvement in the painting of the Gasworks building for the Perth
Fashion Week Festival.

Mike Barker aka Shime
The owner of Monty’s shop in Victoria Park that sells spray paint, Shime (aka Michael Barker)
has made the transition from a kid with a spray can to a well known Perth artist. Shime’s work
is known to those who have driven past the underpass on Wellington Street – the school kids
pulling faces, many shop fronts and murals. Shime was invited to
Greece in 2004 as Australia’s artistic representative for the Athens Olympics, painting large
graffiti murals across the country.
Shime has contributed more than most would be aware of. Widely acknowledged globally for
his amazing painting skills, Shime played an integral role in the establishment of TFC (Twenty
First Century) in 1987; a group that supports and creates new concepts and graffiti art.
Members include not only artists but also illustrators, graphic designers, tattoo artists, youth
officers, business operators, parents and musical performers. Shime also established ‘Bitz
and Pieces’ a black and white magazine that published photographs of graffiti art – local,
national and international work.

Darren Hutchens aka Dile, Dan Duggan aka Dugs, Lawry Halden aka Lorenzo
Work together doing a range of urban art workshops for councils
south of the river. One of their finest achievements is the PTA Urban
Art Project.
"Artist Darren Hutchens from Dazart worked with Dan Duggan, Lawry
Halden and youths on this piece on the Murdoch Station bridge. It
is a tribute to the black cockatoo and the spider orchid, whose habitat
is in the area surrounding Murdoch. The artists saw the wall as a
meditation on the importance of public transport in tackling climate and
overpopulation issues. As commuters wait at the station, the wall
offers them a moment of quiet contemplation amid the rush."

Jenn Garland aka Alyce Anon
Jenn Garland is inspired by urban decay, geometry and old stories.
The fine line between light and dark influences her work as she is
drawn to those uncomfortable spaces in between:
“I like the beauty in the disturbing…and the idea of one thing
encompassing both ends of the scale, both aspects of the binary. I think
that grey area is quite important. Things like life and death,
black-white, good-evil only gain their meaning by their relationship to
the other…without them each would cease to exist” (2008 – MD Limited
Edition 2)
She has been illustrating and painting for a few years but is now
focusing on sculpture and working toward an exhibition of her
larger-scale 3D work.
Jenn Garland is also the creator of Alice Anon , which is a range of
