The concept development for a large scale Urban Art Mural was initiated on 21st June 2011 after local artists approached the YHA requesting an opportunity to submit a Project Proposal to paint the space. Discussions were held with the YHA Marketing Coordinator, Managers and CEO in relation to acceptable content and guidelines for the project.
Artists were advised to create images that would appeal to a broad range of the general public, who utilise and view this space - from and not limited to train commuters, pedestrians, cyclists, business people, families, the young and the elderly. All artwork is to contain NO provocative imagery, lewd discourse, racism, obscene language or hidden agendas and is to remain inoffensive and free from controversy.
